Day 01: Abroad / Mumbai
Arrival and rest day in Mumbai
Day 02: Mumbai
Morning, one hour boat ride across Mumbai Harbour brings you to the lush green Elephanta Island. Here, visit some of the huge and intricately carved Elephanta Caves that date back to the 8th century. Afternoon, City tour of Bombay 'Gateway of India' - the great port city with its Victorian Gothic buildings from the British Era mingling with the modern world.
Day 03: Mumbai - Cochin - Periyar
Morning fly to Cochin on arrival, meet & transfer to the hotel for lunch. Thereafter drive to Periyar one of the largest wildlife reserves in India.
Day 04: Periyar - Kumarakom
Early morning boat cruise on the Lake of the famous Periyar wildlife sanctuary. Periyar - an artificial lake created by a dam on Periyar river is the heart of the Wildlife Sanctuary of wild Elephants, Asiatic Deer, Black Buck and even Tigers come to shores of the lake for a drink. Then drive to Kumarakom en route visit the tea estates. Kumarakom - is a beautiful backwater village.
Day 05: Kumarakom - Houseboat
Morning at leisure at Coconut Lagoon, a cruise on the backwaters in traditional country canoes called "vanjis" to see the agricultural activities of the local people living on the back waters. Visit also the beautiful bird sanctuary. Afternoon board rice boats - "Ketuvallam" and begin your journey through the picturesque backwaters.
Day 06: Houseboat
Breakfast on board. Sail to Alleppey & disembark at Puthenagady Jetty. On arrival proceed directly to Mararikulam. Mararikulam - is one of the picturesque fishing villages that dot the lovely coast line of Kerala.
Day 07: Marari
Full day at leisure for own activities and enjoy the facilities of the Resort.
Day 08: Marari - Cochin
Day 09 : Cochin - Mumbai
Morning transfer from hotel to the airport for flight to Mumbai.
Day 10 : Mumbai - back home
CHENNAI-COVELONG-PONDICHERRY-TANJORE-TRICHY-MADURAI-PERIYAR
Day 01: Abroad - Chennai - Covelong
Arrive Madras International airport.
On arrival, the guests will be met and proceed to Covelong.
Day 02: Covelong
Full day sightseeing tour of Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram.
Kanchipuram - known as the Golden City of a Thousand Temples, is one of the oldest towns in India.
Mahabalipuram - This is a small, quiet seaside resort with a unique 7th-century Shore Temple, a lovely beach and some of the most beautiful rock-cut temples in the world. End the visit by photography of the beautiful Shore temples at sunset.
Day 03: Covelong - Pondicherry
After breakfast drive to Pondicherry.
Pondicherry, which was up until the 1950s, a far-flung outpost of the French maritime empire. It is so different from the rest of Tamil Nadu that one feels one has entered another country!
Day 04: Pondicherry - Tanjore
After breakfast drive to Tanjore.
Afternoon sightseeing tour of Tanjore - was the capital of the Chola Empire from the tenth to the fourteenth centuries.
Day 05: Tanjore - Trichy - Madurai
Early drive to Madurai enroute visiting Trichy
City tour of Trichy - visit the 'Rock Fort Temple' which rises abruptly to a height of 273 ft. Thereafter continue to Madurai
Upon arrival at Madurai - check into hotel. Evening visit the Meenakshi temple by cycle rickshaw.
Day 06: Madurai - Periyar
Morning city tour of Madurai visit the Meenakshi temple once again, one of the biggest temple complexes in India. One can now join the 'Spices of India' tour.
